Benefits of Being Wisconsin Master Logger Certified

- Only Wisconsin Master Logger Certified companies can conduct harvests on Sustainable Forest Resource Management Network member forestlands being sold as FSC Certified.
- Secura Insurance is offering a 20% discount to Master Loggers on insurance coverage excluding worker compensation insurance.
- Washburn County Bond and payment incentive.
- Marketing tool for private landowners by giving them assurance of harvesting done to an accepted standard.
- Time, Inc. recognizing wood harvested from private land by Master Loggers as certified (New Page and Verso).
- Some mills give preference to Master Loggers for contracts.
- FSC Chain-of-Custody Certification Certified.
Requirements of a Certified Master Logger Company

*Beginning in 2012, the WIMLC recertification policy changed from a random audit process to an annual active sale recertification audit. Recertification will take place on active sales only (unless a full audit is prompted due to issues found during audit of active sale).
- Follow and uphold the Wisconsin Master Logger Certification Performance Standards and the Seven Areas of Responsibility spelled out in the WIMLC Program Manual (updated version coming early 2012*).
- Facilitate the WIMLC Annual Recertification*
- Pay the WIMLC Annual Membership Fee ($50.00)
- Facilitate the WIMLC Complaint process if necessary
